PictureCorbinsbere Test July 2014
Corbinsbere Gundogs are now in their fifth year of running AV working gundog tests. Back in 2014 I captured the early days of this unique and popular event and since then it’s grown from strength to strength. Tracy Corbin, Director of Corbinsbere Gundogs,  recently held the first working test event for 2016 and had over 60 entries throughout the day. Competitors came from far and wide to participate and enjoy the challenging test environment. These events highlight the special relationship between handler and dog and enables the community to celebrate the wonderful working characteristics of the gundog.

The event also gave Tracy Corbin the opportunity to unveil a new Corbinsbere  logo designed by Lindsey Pendleton and illustrated by Jo Van Kampen. The main function of a logo is to identify the brand and create meaning with the gundog community. The image which supports the brand as a whole identifies a spaniel retrieving a pheasant. The colours are neutral and the print format is simple. Nothing too bold or overly complicated. But the image is worth a thousand words and reflects the core of Corbinsbere Gundogs. It does not try to sell or describe the business. The spaniel symbolises the meaning of Corbinsbere and that’s why this logo works so well…it identifies Corbinsbere in a way that is recognisable and memorable. Flynn the Cocker Spaniel used for the image of the logo will always be close to Tracy’s heart and what a logo means is much more important than what it looks like. The image chosen captures everything Corbinsbere does, everything it teaches and reflects the values of Tracy Corbin and her team. The logo will help Corbinsbere to drive forward, highlighting what it stands for and where it came from… Clearly this is not just a logo. It’s the heart of Corbinsbere Gundogs.
