Picture1st March 2014 - My first blog!
Three years ago this month I launched Biddablebardsley.com and I was so excited to begin a new writing journey which reflected my passion of gundogs. I wasn’t expecting my blogs to resonate with so many people and their fantastic dogs. So I wanted to thank everyone who has supported me in this venture. Without you all, the blogs would never have clicked as it has. With all your Facebook/Twitter/Instagram comments, the stories and experiences that we have shared over the three years, I wouldn’t be writing now.

Now for those who are new to the website, a little bit more about Biddablebardsley…
So my blogs reflect the rewards and challenges of gundog training and as a novice I have plenty of challenges! I love to visit gun dog working tests/events/game fairs and capture the highlights through my blog. If I’m lucky some of my pieces get published in various shooting magazines and I’ve had a great start to 2017 with success in the Shooting Gazette, Sporting Gun and Sporting Shooter. It’s always a thrill to see my writing in print and the magazine editors have been hugely encouraging and supportive. One of my favourite areas of development for this year is to expand as a guest blogger and develop my ‘Interview’ page. My recent interviews with successful gun dog trainer, Mell Brooks and a clay shooter writer/photographer, Don Brunt revealed their motivations, feelings and attitudes towards their vocation which was a fascinating insight.

As with my young lab Reggie, it feels like I’m flying high with Biddablebardsley and I’m continually experimenting with my site and learning a lot from it. Thank you all for being such awesome supporters and I hope I can continue to give you the enjoyment you and your dogs deserve.

With best wishes of successful training, happiness with your companions and an exciting summer of gundog adventures to all of the BB readers for 2017.

Congratulations on your first three years of blogging Wendy. We follow your adventures with Reggie, combined with your innovative and informative writing style - with great excitement! You've generously shared your techniques in both arenas and helped me recently (last blog) to recall the all important rule in life, creative and professional writing, and gun dog training; "The steady pace of the day meant that I could take my time & correct any mistakes." I now have this gem on my desktop to remind me of what matters most. Thank you! xx

It reminds me of the classic "tortoise and hare" fable. The slow but steady tortoise won against the hare. Though speed might put you ahead of the competition at first, you'll likely end up burning out before the race is over! Thank you for your support Carol and glad you are enjoying the blogs. Looking forward to reading the next Carol Rivers East End Family Saga xx
