Do you start training your pup as soon as he arrives home or do you wait until he is 6 months old?

There seems to be arguments for both schools of thought and a lot may depend on your aims and objectives and your circumstances.

What is important for my 10 week old labrador, Reggie, is to work on creating a trust and bond between us. I want to keep it  fun, upbeat, and enjoy ourselves in the early days. This involves time, commitment and energy. My passion for gun dogs will help build a good foundation for us and encourage this little chap to respond positively to his new environment.

By having a clear understanding of how to behave and respond to Reggie I will hopefully stimulate the behaviours I want and prepare both of us for the exciting journey ahead....

A great post, Wendy. An exciting starter for your adventures with Reggie. Sentiments all new puppy owners can all relate to - and some of us reflectively. Shall really look forward to enjoying the journey with you.

Thanks for your feedback Amanda. It's always great to hear from my readers and glad you like the pics. He's an adorable pup and has settled in well with our family life. It's going to be a fun summer!
